The Wizarding World of Harry Potter has become one of the most popular theme park lands in the world ever since it opened in Islands of Adventure. Recreating Hogwarts Castle and the village of Hogsmeade, it has become the icon of Universal.
But one part of the land based on an iconic shop from the Harry Potter book series would become incredibly short-lived, the Zonko's trick shop.
This store would hold a collection of magical joke and toy items, recreating the joke shop from the series that was notably utilized by the Weasly twins, where a majority of the items are banned from Hogwarts.
This shop held items both from the books and movies as well as original items inspired by the series created specifically for the land.
This shop opened along with the land, but would be among the first things to close in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
This shop closed to make way for an expansion of the neighboring and more popular Honeydukes candy shop. The exterior of Zonko's would remain, but the inside was all themed based on the classic home of Bertie Bots Every Flavor Beans. It was closed as the Weasley's opened their own much more extensive joke shop in the Diagon Ally version of the Wizarding World of the Harry Potter, making it seem redundant.
