California Adventure

World of Color has been the most popular night show in California Adventure's history. It should be obvious then that getting to see this show can be a challenge.
During the busiest times of the year, you need a dining package or Fastpass in order to get a spot anywhere near the water.
But what if there was a way to see the show with little advance planning and no expensive dining package or Fastpass...
Head to the Lamplight Lounge.
To do this you must get into the bar prior to closing (They usually closed prior to World of Color when it was the Cove Bar) and order something.

You should probably request a railing seat but you can most often move after people leave.
Here is what the view looked like when this location was the Cove Bar. The view has not changed since then.

Now, this is a side view, but it is interesting to see the show from a different perspective and without dealing with the crowds of normal…

Lion King Show Coming to California Adventure

Disney California Adventure

Disney announced a new Lion King themed show coming to Disney California Adventure this summer.
The show, called Tale of the Lion King will be performed on an outdoor stage along Paradise Bay themed especially for the show.
It will feature an 18 person performance troupe called the Storytellers of the Pride Lands who will sing, act, and perform out various aspects of the classic film. This appears very similar to Animal Kingdom's Festival of the Lion King in concept, although on a much smaller scale.
This is a part of an already announced Lion King celebration coming to the park this summer in anticipation of the live-action remake of The Lion King.
The show will open at the park on June 7th for the summer.

Walt Disney's Tribute to Notre Dame on Sleeping Beauty Castle

Today we lost a cultural icon, the spire of Notre-Dame. This was almost a millennium of history lost. Being a theme park based site we are going to talk about the influence of Notre-Dame on Disney and the Disney Parks.
Now, many Disney fans know that Sleeping Beauty Castle is primarily based on Neuschwanstein Castle. But one specific spire is inspired by the lost feature of Notre-Dame.

This specific section of the castle was inspired by Notre-Dame and features a scaled-down recreation of the spire that was lost in today's devastating fire.
This is by no means the only time Disney has been inspired by the historic cathedral, with an entire animated film, The Hunchback of Notre Dame being set there, based off of Victor Hugo's novel of the same name.
Notre-Dame inspired people for close to a millennium and hopefully after a rebuild will continue to inspire for centuries more,

New Details, Name, and Concept Art for Fantasy Springs Expansion at Tokyo Disney Sea

We now have many new details on the massive new Disney themed expansion coming to Tokyo Disney Sea. We have an official name for the land, Fantasy Springs, as well as many new pieces of concept art for the land, showing three new locations in both daylight and at night.

There appears to be a similarity with these designs and the bioluminescent features of Pandora at Disney's Animal Kingdom but while also incorporating magical creatures and Disney characters into the landscape in place of the alien plants of Pandora.

It appears despite the fact that this expansion is based on Tangled, Peter Pan, and Frozen, that this land is still going to somehow tie in with the overall theme and storylines of Tokyo Disney Sea, with all of the concept art shown above featuring what appears to be figures hidden in the landscape, hinting at an overall story to uncover in this land involving the Disney characters.
This land is certainly going to be more than Tokyo Disney Sea's version of Fantasy…
