Disney Parks Character Tribute
One of the early shows on Playhouse Disney, the precursor preschool television channel run by Disney to Disney Junior was Rolie Polie Olie. This show about a family of robots ran for 6 seasons on the Disney Channel, and during this time it found its way into the Disney Parks as a part of Playhouse Disney Live on Stage.
But for a limited time, two characters from the park would appear in a Disney Park from this show, those being Olie Polie and Zowie, who would appear on a limited basis in Disney MGM Studios (now known as Disney's Hollywood Studios) at Walt Disney World.
These two characters, the main brother and sister duo from the show. would appear in the Disney Stars and Motor Cars Parade which ran daily at the park.
These two characters would follow the Playouse Disney float of the parade, geeting guests along the sides of the parade and preceding the Snow White float.
The characters even had special holiday outfits for the holiday version of the parade, giving them winter clothes to wear for the season in addition to their normal outfits.
These characters would eventually disappear from the park following the conclusion of the television show and the parade that was their only major regular appearance. It is unlikely they will ever return to the Disney Parks given the age of the series and that Disney no longer holds all the rights to the series they are from.
