Six Flags is a major amusement park operator that runs parks all across America as well as in Mexico and Canada. It can be tempting to want to film some of the thrilling and famous attractions at these parks as you experience them. But is this practice allowed? Can you film the rides at various Six Flags amusement parks?

Six Flags has a consistent filming policy across all of their parks, with one exception, which makes following the rules relatively easy as there is no difference between one park and another.

Filming on rides is banned at every single Six Flags amusement park unless you are given permission by the park, something that is rarely if ever granted.

Some parks will have an individual list of some rides where filming is allowed, with this list typically only including ferris wheels, carousels, and slow-moving scenic rides.

Filming off the rides is allowed for personal purposes.

There is one park with specific policies in relation to filming on rides that are different than the other parks in the Six Flags chain. Six Flags Great Adventure has an even stricter policy on filming on rides than the rest of the parks owned and or operated by Six Flags.

If you are caught filming on a ride at Six Flags Great Adventure you will face extreme consequences. The ride may be stopped, and if it is then a worker will come to you and confiscate the phone or camera that was being used. After your ride, you will also then be escorted out of the park by security without a refund. This is a strict policy that is strictly enforced. The park has cameras throughout their rides that will catch you.

Filming on rides at Six Flags is not allowed, and if you attempt it, you can be removed from the park.

  1. I also hear that if you get caught filming yourself on a Six Flags ride, they'll contact the FBI and have you arrested at the park for copyright infringement, and then your Six Flags day turns into 5 years in prison for copyright infringement.

    1. That is nonsense. That is not copyright infringement. You own the video, not them. The FBI has no jurisdiction over six flags.

  2. Copyright infringement is not punishable by prison either. Dude, get off the drugs.
