Walt Disney World is home to rides for guests of all ages, perfect for a park that caters mainly to families. But that is not to say that all of the rides at Walt Disney World are calm experiences. Some are even intense and/ or scary.
So here are five of the most terrifying rides at the four theme parks that can currently be found in the Walt Disney World Resort.
5. Star Wars Rise of the Resistance
Star Wars Rise of the Resistance is one of the best and most immersive rides at Walt Disney World, but it is also an intense and somewhat scary experience. The ride features you being chased and attacked multiple times by Kylo Ren, which can be frightening, especially for younger guests. This ride is exciting, but it does feature some frightening scenes.
4. Mission Space
Mission Space is the only Disney ride so intense, they needed to design a less intense version of to enable more people to do the ride. The original Mars version of the attraction however is one of the most intense theme park rides ever created. It takes place in a small capsle style ride vehicle and recreates the experience of astronaut training missions, with incredible accuracy.
3. Rock N Roller Coaster
Rock N Roller Coaster is the most thrilling roller coaster at Walt Disney World and by that alone it finds its way to a spot on the list. While the theme itself, a limo to a rock concert, is not scary, this ride does go upside down three times, and in the dark at that. It is an intense roller coaster ride that is more intense than any other ride at Disney.
2. Tower of Terror
Walt Disney World's Tower of Terror is befitting of its name. Its queue line and preshow are both designed to make you feel uneasy and build suspense. The ride then primarily takes place in the dark and builds suspense for the first half of the ride leading up to the actual drop sequence. This ride is designed to be a frightening as possible.
1. Dinosaur
Dinosaur is truly the most terrifying ride at Disney World. Featuring a journey back in time to save an Iguanadon (Aladar from Disney's Dinosaur) from the meteor that killed the dinosaurs. This is a high-speed, rough journey in the dark with appearances by several frightening dinosaurs that attack your ride vehicle. It is the most intense ride in terms of scary scenery in Disney World, and it is important to be prepared as the queue line and preshow are much less intense than the actual ride.
