Disney Parks Character Tribute
Chewbacca is one of the most iconic Star Wars characters of all time. Having appeared in nearly all of the main saga films, as well as being a main character in Solo, one of the spin off Star Wars Stories, he is one of the most recognizable characters from the entire franchise. Because of this, he makes constant visits to the first ever land based on the series, Star Wars Galaxy's Edge.
At the moment he can be found wandering above the land on the various bridges and pathways found above the streets of Batuu. Often greeting guests alongside other resistance fighter characters, he is one of the most common characters to find in the land.
Chewbacca does have a long history of meeting guests at the Disney Parks, most recently greeting guests at Star Wars Launch Bay, also in Disney's Hollywood Studios. But Galaxy's Edge gave him a permanent place in the Disney Parks.
Chewbacca, while alive for most of the Star Wars franchise, is showcased as he appears in the sequel trilogy, as that is when the land takes place.
This is a great way to see a famous character, and it gives Star Wars Galaxy's Edge some added life by incorporating the character into the land in a natural way.
