It has just been announced that legendary Disney Imagineer Joe Rhode has retired from the Walt Disney Corperation.


Joe Rhode has been a major force in Disney Parks for decades, and his work spans Disney Parks across the globe. Many of the most popular projects in recent years have been his, turning ideas that were controversial when they were announced into world-class attractions that become some of the most popular in their respective parks.

Rhode has worked on a variety of significant projects over the years, from Disney's Aulani to Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout, all of which will continue to delight Disney fans for the foreseeable future.

He also helped to bring Disney's Animal Kingdom to life, and also helped bring its first major expansions to life, including Expedition Everest and Pandora World of Avatar. The park is a tribute to his talent for immersive design and world-building, as well as his own passion for conservation and the natural world.

Joe Rhode would visit with guests on a yearly basis at Disney's Animal Kingdom on its anniversary, Earth Day, often signing artworks and participating in dinner talks at some of its world-class restaurants.

Joe Rhode will be missed, and his work will hopefully inspire future guests and the next generation of Imagineers for years to come.
