In the recent Disney Investor Day presentation, Disney CEO Bob Chapek revealed that Disney Plus had hit 86 million subscribers in the recent days.
This has outpaced all estimates for the streaming service, and is driven by highly successful originals on the service from The Mandalorian to Hamilton, on top of the sizable back catalog of Disney and Pixar animated films as well as Marvel, Star Wars, and more.
This is the highest performing streaming service currently owned by Disney, outpacing Hulu and ESPN+.
Disney Plus is expected to continue growing in the next year with the upcoming Marvel original television series beginning with Wandavision in early 2021.
