Knotts Berry Farm is filled with tons of iconic roller coasters that make it one of the best places for thrill-seekers in Southern California. So today we are counting down the five best coasters that are currently found at Knotts Berry Farm.
5. Xcelerator
Xcelerator may have a relatively simple layout, but it packs a punch in this small area. Its launch is incredibly powerful, allowing each element to have forces far beyond what it looks like from the outside.
4. Montezooma's Revenge
This is a classic coaster that should be a must ride for any large coaster fan, as it is a rare coaster model, with few others left in opperation. This shuttle coaster has a relatively short layout but with a strong launch that propels you through a spike and a loop inversion. It is a unique experience that is tucked into a tiny corner of the park, bringing an amazing amount of thrills into a tiny layout.
3. HangTime
HangTime is the newest roller coaster at Knotts Berry Farm, and it is one of the best. It replaced a Boomerang model, and managed to give the park a unique dive coaster that was not only a full circuit coaster rather than the shuttle coaster it replaced, but manages to fit in five inversions into the tightly packed layout.
The coaster is incredibly smooth from its vertical lift hill to the final brakes. It also has an impressive lighting package at night that makes it an especially fun time to ride this great roller coaster.
2. Silver Bullet
Silver Bullet is one of the largest roller coasters at the park, and it is one of the best. This B&M suspended coaster is located near the entrance of the park and is a wonderful experience with incredibly strong forces.
Featuring a layout over a body of water in the park, the coaster is one of the best coasters in the park, with six massive inversions, including a massive cobra roll and loop. It is visable from the entire park, and has a great pacing of elements. The ride also manages to keep up its speed through the entire layout, ending in an incredibly forcful helix at the end of the ride that is one of its best elements.
1. GhostRider
Ghost rider is one of the most popular rides at Knotts Berry Farm, and for good reason. It is an incredibly long coaster that is filled with airtime and remarkably smooth for a wooden roller coaster. This CCI coaster is one of my favorite wooden roller coasters in the world and it manages to fit so much into a narrow coaster located above the park's parking lot.
The first half is a high speed journey above the park, followed by a second half with increased intensity as it travels through the structure at high speed, with near constant head chopper moments. It has all of the best elements of wooden roller coasters, and is the best coaster in a park of amazing roller coasters.
