Universal has just announced that they have been given the go-ahead and will be opening up their Universal Studios Hollywood theme park on April 16th
The park will have been closed for over a year amid the coronavirus pandemic and will finally be allowed to entertain guests once again.
The park will be opening with a new set of rules to keep guests safe amid the pandemic, including mandatory masks in the park, social distancing requirements, significantly altered operation of attractions, and more.
Some attractions will not be allowed to open along with the park due to the rules put in place to allow theme parks to open.
Specifically many of the shows that make up the entertainment of the park will not be allowed to reopen.
Universal has also announced that Secret Life of Pets Off The Leash, which was about to open when the park shut down, will be opening with the park, as will new elements in Jurassic World The Ride.
While this is certainly going to be a different park than the one fans are used to, without hardly any active production and with so many temporary changes, at least it is finally going to be reopening in some form. The world is a difficult place right now and it could use a little movie magic.
