Jurassic World Velocicoaster First Concept art and Official POV

Universal has finally announced their upcoming roller coaster based on the Jurassic Park franchise that has been being built in plain sight for the last year. Despite constant rumors and its obvious construction, this is the first official acknowledgment of the project.

Universal announced that the coaster would be opening in the summer of 202, and gave some indication of what the experience is going to be like.

The coaster vehicle itself looks modern and very much in the style of the Jurassic World films.

Based on the concept art and conceptual renderings, Jurassic World Velocicoaster looks like it is going to be a visually stunning roller coaster, on top of being a thrilling coaster that will fill a void left at Islands of Adventure since Dueling Dragons closed.

The concept rendering also provided us with a look at how the redesigned area is going to look, with new terraces, and potentially a redesign of the entire area. The area is currently based on Jurassic Park, so it would not be surprising at all to see at least an aesthetic refresh before the ride opens, especially given the Discovery Center appears blue in the concept rendering.

It is amazing what they are doing with this space, with the coaster essentially replacing only a long-closed Triceratops Encounter, and an empty plaza.

Questions still remain as to what this attraction means for the other Jurassic Park attractions, but this is an exciting addition to Islands of Adventure no matter what.
