Disney World has a ton of restaurants in the different parks, but not all of them are open all year round. These seasonal restaurants can often have special offerings that are great to try if you happen to visit when they are open.
Some of these great offerings are found at the Golden Oak Outpost in Frontierland at the Magic Kingdom.
This is a small location located between Splash Mountain and the entrance of Adventureland, and is only open during peak times. This is a real shame.
On my last trip there I got the chicken breast nuggets and waffle fries that are offered there. The chicken breast nuggets are the same ones offered at every similar counter service restaurant throughout all four Walt Disney World parks, but the waffle fries are special to the location and a nice change from the normal fry offerings at the Disney Parks.
Pretty much every Disney Park counter service restaurant offers the exact same fries as every other counter service restaurant, which can make meals repetitive on a vacation, as they are offered with most meals, especially those for children.
These waffle fries are a departure from the normal fries, having stronger seasoning which makes them a nice thing to try if only once if you get the chance.
With this restaurant closed due to COVID19, it remains uncertain when you once again be able to pick up food here. There is not much seating here, making it an ideal spot to close down to prevent people from walking while eating, a risk factor for spreading the coronavirus.
Hopefully, once the risks recede you will once again be able to eat here as it offers different child-friendly food, and is a good change from the typical offerings at most Magic Kingdom counter service resturants.
