Diagon Alley perfectly recreates the location from the Harry Potter books and films, with the ability to explore every little store, restaurant, sign, and even talk to the storekeepers in the wizarding shopping district.
But this land was placed in a more specific time than its cousin the Wizarding World of Harry Potter Hogsmeade, taking place in an exact moment from the seventh Harry Potter book and film The Deathly Hallows.
The land takes place during Hary, Ron, and Hermione's harrowing escape from Gringotts Bank, as made evident from the dragon perched permanently on top of the building and serving as the visual icon of the land.
It even occasionally breaths fire making it feel more alive and giving the whole land an increased sense of scale.
You can even go and see the same dragon featured multiple times in the attraction Harry Potter and the Escape From Gringotts, the main ride of the land, which follows how the dragon got on top of the bank in the first place.
This brings the magic of the land to the forefront and immediately shows you when you pass into Diagon Alley that you are no longer in a simple London street, you are somewhere different, special, and unique.
