Things are changing in the Disney Parks at an increasing rate in the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and it appears few attractions are safe from closure, or long-lasting and potentially permanent changes to them.
There are a lot of rumors flying around right now so we are just going to share the few most credible rumors, but there is a lot of rumors out there right now.
Voyage of The Little Mermaid
One of the most credible and longest-lasting rumors has been that the Voyage of The Little Mermaid show at Disney's Hollywood Studios has permanently closed and will join Rivers of Light and Primeval Whirl in having permanently closed back in March.
This has been rumored to close for years, apparently being considered to be replaced by an interchangeable dark ride.
This show was meant to be a temporary offering, that has far outlasted its initial popularity. Now that The Little Mermaid has its own ride in the Magic Kingdom this show felt a bit out of place, and it was definitely outdated.
Halloween At Disney World This Year
Even though Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party has been canceled, rumors are circulating that Disney will still be celebrating Halloween in smaller ways this year.
Main Street USA will still get decorated and a Halloween character cavalcade is reportedly in development.
This is nice to know at least something will be done to celebrate the holiday. Currently, no dates for decorations or cavalcades have been announced.
Increased Rethemes
We discussed a trend that may be growing, with rethemes replacing original attractions for years to come due to budget constraints.
