Disneyland is currently closed on its anniversary for the first time in its history and there is no sign of it opening any time soon.

To pay tribute to the original Disney Park we are sharing a collection of photos and videos in tribute to the most charming Disney Park ever built, the one that started them all, the one that Walt himself walked in.

Disneyland is a unique combination of timeless classics and modern thrills that come together seamlessly to create unforgettable experiences.

Dumbo Flying Elephants Disneyland

It perfectly uses every last bit of space within its limits, and manages to fit in more rides than any other Disney Park in the world. The rides are often right on top of one another but never in a way that feels forced. They manage to complement each other in a mutually beneficial way.

But Disneyland is more than its rides. Its entertainment is just as iconic and adds so many dimensions to the park. They even come together for even bigger performances. The Dapper Dans are easily one of the most famous barbershop style quartets. The Disneyland Band is one of the best ways to take in a variety of Disney music in the parks in a fun, energetic way.

The park manages to fit in so much into so little space. They also find ways to make their awkward use of space make the attractions better.

Having to get people outside the park to Indiana Jones Adventure gave the park the opportunity to create one of the best queue lines in Disney Parks history. Disneyland's weaknesses often end up becoming its strengths.

Disneyland Rivers of America Native American Village

In a time where Disney is reluctant to invest in anything not directly involving movie characters, they gave the park a completely redesigned Rivers of America, improving on aspects of the park dating back to Walt Disney.

We don't know when we will be able to get into this land of yesterday, tomorrow, and fantasy again, so let us pay tribute to it from afar and look forward to the day we can enter it once again.
