A professionally filmed version of Hamilton is being released on Disney Plus Tomorrow, and to celebrate we are looking back on one of many Ham4Ham performances by the original Broadway cast of the musical outside of the Richard Rogers Theatre.
This musical was so popular when it first came out that it would be entirely sold out for months in advance.
Hamilton came up with a solution to this, offering a lottery outside the theatre before every performance to win $10 tickets (or one Hamilton) for the front row. Before these lotteries, they would do a little performance.
These were constantly changing and often featured celebrity guests.
These performances eventually got too popular, blocking the street and disrupting traffic, causing them to be permanently canceled.
Take a look back on one of them here before you watch the full show on Disney Plus!
