Disney California Adventure now has a permanent home for all of the characters of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Avengers Campus. But before this land opened, the characters could be found throughout the park in temporary locations.
Today I look back at the Dora Milaje appearing in Hollywoodland at Disney California Adventure at the Disneyland Resort.
The Dora Milaje are the royal guards of the country of Wakanda within the Marvel universe, and they would appear whenever Black Panther came into the park. But while he got his own meet and greet, they would guard the building outside or wander the area, allowing anyone in or out of the line to interact with them.
They were most often found in the Hollywoodland area of the park where Black Panther had moved in temporarily following the release of his first film.
These characters were a huge added treat to the land, bringing a much-beloved group of characters to the park for the first time, something that would be expanded with Avengers Campus where they would be given their own show.
The Dora Milaje will almost certainly become a major part of the Disneyland Resort for years to come, so it is nice to look back on their humble beginnings while appreciating where they are now.
