Knott's Berry Farm has announced that one of their most historic roller coasters, Montezooma's Revenge, will be closing on January 10th for an extensive refurbishment that will last until at least 2023.
This roller coaster was one of a series of shuttle coasters built by manufacturer Schwarzkopf, and it is the only one still operating in the United States. It features a launch system no longer common on roller coasters of this kind.
Montezooma’s Revenge will close on January 10, 2022, as major renovations will be taking place to this historic coaster. 🎢 Stay tuned for more information later this year. 🐍 The new Montezooma’s Revenge is scheduled to open 2023. pic.twitter.com/0uEU9tnhfN

The park has stated that more information will be revealed about this refurbishment, suggesting some changes will be occurring during the refurbishment, although none of this information has been revealed or confirmed at this time.
No exact reopening date has yet been given for this ride.
This roller coaster only has a few days remaining before the closure, so if you are visiting Knott's Berry Farm, be sure to get your last rides in on the present version of Montezooma's Revenge in the Fiesta Village section of the park.
