It was announced as part of the Destination D23 that Fantasmicwill be coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World in 2022.
Fantasmic has remained closed since the closure of Walt Disney World due to the COVID19 pandemic, even as other nighttime spectaculars have restarted. Meanwhile, extensive work was being done on the show, although until this announcement it was not known if this was for new elements of the show or just a refurbishment of the show's existing elements.
The show that was running when Walt Disney World closed was almost entirely unchanged from the original version of the show that had opened in 1998. It was the second of three versions of Fantasmic to open, opening after the original Disneyland version and before the now-closed Tokyo DisneySea version of the show.
No timeline was given for when this will be opening in 2022.
