Walt Disney once said that Disneyland will never be finished, and because of that, it is always changing with attractions coming and going all the time. Since there is really no more expansion space left whenever another attraction comes to the park it will likely require the removal of one of the currently open rides.
So we are going to attempt to speculate as to which ride will be closed at Disneyland Park next, not including Splash Mountain which has also been announced to be replaced soon by a Princess and the Frog ride.
We are going to discuss several rides that could be in danger soon, and why they might be removed next.
The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh
The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh has never been a popular ride at Disneyland, and it is probably the most unpopular ride based on Winnie The Pooh in the world.
With Splash Mountain closing soon, it puts the entire future of Critter Country into question. After the closure, Pooh will become the only ride in the land, making the already unpopular ride the only attraction in the back corner of the park.
It may seem unthinkable Disney would remove this attraction, but it takes up a lot of space that could potentially be used better in the future.
If this is removed I would expect it to be a part of some project that reimagines all of Critter Country into something new. Fans have been speculating it could be absorbed into New Orleans Square alongside Splash Mountain, and while I'm unsure of that happening I do think Critter Country, or whatever it will be renamed after this project will need to be addressed soon.
It does take up a large amount of space, and could easily be replaced with some new project in the future if Disney needs the space.
Gadget's Go Coaster
Located in the back corner of Mickey's Toontown Gadget's Go Coaster is one of the least well-known rides in all of Disneyland. Based on Chip and Dale Rescue Rangers, this ride is a themed version of a mass-produced kiddie coaster.
While Mickey's Toontown is almost certainly safe for the foreseeable future given the addition of Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway in the near future, the western side of the land with all of the character's houses is always rumored to be less safe than the downtown side of the land.
This ride could easily be removed to make way for a new attraction for either Toontown or Star Wars Galaxy's Edge.
Autopia
Autopia may be an opening day ride at Disneyland, but it really is a strange attraction that might not last that much longer.
When it was created it was a ride dedicated to the future of America's, then new, interstate highway system. While it has had many updates since then, it still remains a ride that really has no place in today's Tomorrowland. A ride about the future of gas-based cars really makes no sense in Tomorrowland of the 21st century.
This ride also takes up an insane amount of space in the landlocked Disneyland Park, and if removed it could open up enough space for potentially multiple new rides.
The only thing that could potentially complicate removing this ride is that it is partially located above the ride building for Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage. But assuming it gets removed this could allow for a massive expansion of Fantasyland or Tomorrowland, just as this same ride being removed in Tokyo and Hong Kong did.
