Review: Croc Pot Chicken Tenders and Waffle Fries at Lake Compounce

Chicken Tender and Waffle Fry Basket Lake Compounce Food

Lake Compounce is the oldest continuously operating amusement park in the world, and therefore you can typically find all of your classic amusement park favorite foods and snacks at the various stands and restaurants around the park. One of the most popular restaurants at the park is the Croc Pot, and today I am reviewing the Chicken Tender and Waffle Fry Combo.

This is one of the main offerings at the restaurant located right outside the entrance to the Crocodile Cove,  and it offers a variety of entrees and sides as well as combos that are a part of the Lake Compounce dining pass.

The Croc Pot is a great place to eat at the park, one of only two locations that allow you to eat indoors which can be helpful to know if the weather does not cooperate on your visit to the park. It also has ample outdoor seating with amazing views of the water park as well as the park's namesake lake.

The serving size of the chicken tender and waffle cry combo is big enough to satisfy the average appetite, with a large number of fries greatly overpowering the number of chicken served.

The fries are the highlight of the meal though, so that is a welcome imbalance. They are well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Each is large but not unmanageable and perfect to enjoy either with or without condiments.

But this is only one half of the meal and so I will now turn to the chicken.

The chicken is largely flavorless and it is incredibly greasy. It does not compliment the fries at all and brings the quality of the entire meal down. If you are looking for quality chicken tenders at Lake Compounce, you are much better off going to the Potato Patch, which provides a much better meal and is only a few steps away.
