Star Tours The Adventures Continue is the newest version of the original Disney ride based on the Star Wars franchise. Located in Disney Parks around the world, this ride takes you on a fast paced journey to planets all around the Star Wars galaxy.
Here are 10 facts and secrets about this classic Disney attraction.
1. Flight 1401
On this ride you board Star Tours Flight 1401, but things do not go as planned and you do not end up going on the journey you signed up for.
2. Reused Animatronics
Some of the droids featured in the queue line of the Disneyland version of this attraction were actually reused animatronics from the classic Disneyland attraction America Sings, which was an Americana-themed musical stage show.
3. Stars
The cast of this attraction features a variety of stars playing characters, including notably Allison Janney and Patrick Warburton playing original characters for the attraction.
4. Original
The main character from the original version of this attraction, Captian Rex, can be found in the queue line for this attraction.
5. Sister Attractions
Two other Disney rides have also utilized the same ride system as Star Tours, the Iron Man Experience in Hong Kong Disneyland, and Body Wars in Epcot.
6. Randomizer
This ride features a randomizer that makes it so you are unlikely to ever experience the exact same ride storyline twice.
7. Ride Vehicle
The ride vehicle simulators are themed as Starspeeder 1000 class spaceships. This is in reference to the Starspeeder 3000 class ships that had been used in the original Star Tours, which took place decades after the events of this new attraction.
8. New Scenes
This ride was designed to have the ability to add new scenes every few years that would be worked into the randomizer seamlessly. This was notably done to add new scenes based on the films of the sequel trilogy.
9. Tomorrowland
With the exception of Walt Disney World version, all the versions of this ride would be located in the park's version of Tomorrowland.
10. Smaller Disneyland Version
While most versions of the attraction were built with 6 ride vehicles, the original Disneyland version only features 4 simulators to this day.
