It can be difficult to watch some of your favorite Disney rides close, but it is a natural part of Walt Disney World and always has been. But just because they are gone from one park doesn't mean they are gone altogether.
Here we are going to be looking at some rides and attractions that have closed in Walt Disney World but still exist somewhere else in the world. We will count this as long the attraction is still largely similar to the one that existed in Walt Disney World, even if it is not an exact clone.
Catastrophe Canyon
Catastrophe Canyon was the most elaborate of the different scenes along the Studio Backlot Tour at Disney's Hollywood Studios. While this closed along with its attraction, it still exists in some form in Disneyland Paris.
In the resorts second park, Walt Disney Studios, portions of the old studio tour attraction is being transformed into a Cars themed attraction, most significantly Catastrophe Canyon being given a Cars overlay.
Snow White's Scary Adventure
While the Disneyland version of the attraction was recently transformed into a more uplifting version of the attraction, there is still a version of this classic dark ride formerly located at the Magic Kingdom in Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris.
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride
Mr. Toad's Wild Ride was an opening day attraction at the Magic Kingdom that was eventually replaced with The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh. While the Walt Disney World version of the attraction was much more elaborate, the ride it was initially based on, the Disneyland original still exists today.
The original version features many of the same scenes and effects that used to be in the Magic Kingdom version, allowing you to get an idea of what it was like.
Submarines
While you cannot experience the original version of the Disney submarine attraction in Disneyland, there is still a submarine attraction in Tomorrowland at the original Disney Park. Now themed based on Finding Nemo, this is a great ride that has allowed a classic Disney experience to live on into the modern day.
