Walt Disney World has announced major layoffs in their entertainment division, and several major shows have been entirely gutted of their casts and crews.

Amid the pandemic, amid capacity limits, decreased tourism, and the lack of the ability to put on major shows due to safety concerns have led Disney to let go a significant number of its entertainment, but this was the most significant amount of shows impacted by layoffs so far.

Significant major shows that were among the new layoffs included Finding Nemo The Musical, Festival Of The Lion King, Hoop Dee Doo Revue, Beauty and the Beast Live on Stage, and Monsters Inc Laugh Floor.

It was not just major shows that were impacted, with streetmosphere entertainment also being cut, including the Citizens of Main Street and the Citizens of Hollywood.

Entertainment is truly what makes a Disney Park different than any other amusement park. You may come for the rides, but the shows and experiences with smaller entertainment make for unique experiences that make Disney World the most magical place on earth.

At the moment, entertainment has to stop for safety. But these cuts seem to suggest that even when entertainment can return, it might not come back.

Walt Disney World entertainment is among the best in the world, and it just lost so many of the people that make it happen. This is a dark day for Disney. They are laying off so many people who have dedicated years to the company, meanwhile having restored full executive salaries. If anything this proves the Disneyland layoffs are not because of California. Disney is hurting, and saving cast member's jobs is not their priority.
