The Tony Awards is coming late this year, and in a way that is significantly different than it has been done ever before. To celebrate we are looking back at a temporary Tony Awards pop up shop that opened one year in the theater district.
This opened on a limited basis across from the then future location of Hamilton at the Richard Rodgers Theatre. If you visited the show for most of its history this was the location of the Hamilton pop up shop.
The shop was filled with oversized Tony Awards and sold a variety of merchandise with the Tony logo on it, from shirts to mugs to bags.
This was a fun way to celebrate the biggest awards night in theater and it would be nice to see this shop return in some form in the future.
