Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue Tribute

Universal's oldest and longest-standing popular characters have been their monsters. With classic monsters who are always popular like Frankenstein and Dracula to newer classic monsters like Beetlejuice, they form one of Universal's most enduring brands. Yet as of right now, they are almost entirely absent from the Universal theme parks.

This month leading up to Halloween every week we are paying tribute to Halloween and horror experiences past and present from Universal's parks outside of Halloween Horror Nights. Today we are paying tribute to Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue.

Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue was an early show at Universal's Orlando resort, also eventually being found in the Hollywood and Japan parks, under different names. It remains a current attraction at Universal Japan.

This show used a light storyline of Beetlejuice setting up a rock concert featuring a collection of Universal Monsters.

The show would be continually updated over the years with different collections of modern pop songs, and classic rock sung by the cast of rock star monsters live on stage, occasionally also joined by a song from the film Beetlejuice.

Eventually, this show would be replaced in two of its locations, eventually becoming Super Silly Funland in Universal Hollywood and Fast and Furious Supercharged in Orlando.

It was a fun way to experience the Universal Monsters in the parks, and without it, they are almost entirely absent from the parks, which is a real shame as they are some of the most iconic Universal characters.

Hopefully, we see Beetlejuice and the gang featured in an attraction again someday in the Universal parks on a consistent basis. Reportedly he was supposed to have a significant role in this year's Halloween Horror Nights, so maybe we will see him utilized in next year's event.
