Guide to New Year's Eve at Disney's Hollywood Studios

Fantasmic Finale 2019 Disney's Hollywood Studios

Disney's Hollywood Studios has a wide variety of fireworks and other night shows to ring in the new year with. On top of this, some of the best attractions in Disney World are in this park. It also is the park opening the earliest, but I wouldn't recommend going at opening if you intend on staying up until midnight.

Park Hours

6:00AM-12:00AM

Night Spectacular Times

Wonderful World of Animation: 6:05PM

Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!: 6:30PM

Fantasmic: 9:00PM, 10:30PM

Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular: 12:00AM

Guide

Now be aware that Disney's Hollywood Studios is the smallest park at Disney World, so phase closures are likely and it doesn't handle crowds well. Don't expect to get on Rise of the Resistance unless you get to the park at opening, and expect multiple hours waits for every ride.

Either resign yourself to these waits, or enjoy other less popular attractions like MuppetVision, or shows with massive capacity like Beauty and the Beast or the Indiana Jones Stunt Spectacular.

Also, be sure to enjoy the meet and greets which fill the park and other smaller attractions like Star Wars Launch Bay.

Fireworks Guide

The way all of the shows are lined up this year you could theoretically see all of the night shows in one night, starting with the Wonderful World of Animation, staying through Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM! Then going to the first Fantasmic and rounding out the night with Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular. But beware you will have to battle crowds in order to do this.

Leaving Fantasmic if you intend on returning to the main park, make sure whenever you are given an option on where to go when leaving the show, you turn right. Turn left and you could find yourself outside the park.

Food Guide

Food at Disney's Hollywood Studios is going to be somewhat difficult to get. Avoid Woody's Lunch Box at all costs, lines will be longest there. Try and use mobile ordering if at all possible.

Above all try not to eat at traditional meal times to limit the time you will spend waiting in line. Also be prepared to enjoy a Disney tradition, eating off of a trash can while standing when there are no available tables.

Leaving the Park

By Car

This isn't as bad as leaving Epcot, but it is still pretty bad. Try and wait out the traffic for a while in the shops, or get ready to be in your car for a long time.

By Skyliner

This is a system that has not been tested with this level of crowds as it is the first New Years of this system. It could be a great way to get out of the park, but it could also be a disaster. Your call.

By Bus

This will have a lot of the same problems as traveling by car, but you may be standing.

Last Tips

Be warned that if you leave the park there is a good chance you will not get back in. Crowds in the pathways will probably be the worst in this park out of all four in Walt Disney World.

Good luck!
