Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Leading up to Christmas day, we are going to be showcasing holiday decorations past and present from around the Walt Disney World Resort.
Today we are starting with a look at Santa Gertie.
Gertie is one of the two icons of the Echo Lake section of Disney's Hollywood Studios. Having been one of the first animated characters, she made her way into the Disney Parks as an ice cream stand and becomes one of the parks most inventive holiday decorations at this time of year, with a Santa hat on her head and an ornament in her mouth.
Spend the season with Santa Gertie, and keep coming back for more Disney Parks holiday celebrations past and present from now till Christmas day.
