Disneyland's Innoventions: Extinct Disney Parks Tribute

Extinct Disney Parks Tribute

Innoventions Entrance Globe Tomorrowland Disneyland

Tomorrowland has changed more than maybe any other land at Disneyland, and there are dozens of attractions from this land that have been lost over the years. One of these is a version of the classic Epcot attraction Innoventions.

Located in the former carousel theater building, this attraction was a two-story version of the similar exhibit also found in Epcot and incorporating many games found in different locations throughout the park.

The land did feature a different, more sci-fi approach to the concept though, fitting better within the 1990s version of Tomorrowland that was largely inspired by the works and general aesthetic of Jules Verne.

Characters would also make occasional appearances in the building, wandering amongst the different park exhibits.

Tom Morrow Animatronic Innoventions Tomorrowland Disneyland

One of the most popular exhibits was an elaborate Tom Morrow animatronic, who was supposed to be the mayor of Tomorrowland. Voiced by Nathan Lane, he was a comedic addition to the land, but he would be removed in 2012, prior to the attraction itself closing in 2015.

It would be replaced in stages, first with a Marvel-themed exhibit on the second floor, then Star Wars Launch Bay, which still operates in the lower floor of the building.

This exhibit was a unique part of Disneyland, and one of the few elements of Future World to be cloned outside of Epcot, albeit with a Disneyland twist.
