During the 1990s Disneyland featured a series of temporary parades celebrating the numerous popular new animated films released by Disney during the period. The final of these parades would be an elaborate night parade themed based on Mulan.

This parade was the only of thse temporary parades to run at night, and it would have similar versions also run at Disneyland Paris and Disney MGM Studios (now Disney's Hollywood Studios).

Replacing the short-lived Light Magic, the Mulan Parade took advantage of various new lights and parade infrastructure that was installed in the park in anticipation of that parade's success that never came. It would be the first in a series of Disneyland night parades to take advantage of these improvements.

This parade attempted to emulate classic Chinese parades utilizing the Disney film as an entry point while using the songs and characters of the film.

It would be run for roughly a year alongside the Hercules Victory Parade for a period, before becoming the last promotional parade at Disneyland. The trend ended as Disney moved out of the flawed Disney Decade in the parks and the successful Disney Reinassance film period.

This was the end of an interesting period in Disneyland, where every film got a splashy temporary place in the park, and this parade was a great way to end the practice.
