Disney's Animal Kingdom has very few former attractions. The park has largely lost very few if any major attractions since opening, making those few lost parts of Disney's Animal Kingdom all the more special.
Today we pay tribute to the lost live animal show formerly located in the Asia section of the park, Flights of Wonder.
This show was tied in with the larger theme of the area based in the Anandapur backstory, showing local guides and experts introducing varying species of birds.
This show was one of the most educational parts of the park, and a really underappreciated show with some impressive animal elements.
Eventually, as part of larger changes happening to the entire park, this show would be replaced with a similar bird show, Up! A Great Bird Adventure. This show featured many of the same elements, but struggled to find its story, with it receiving multiple rewrites in a relatively short amount of time.
The show currently has yet to reopen during the COVID19 pandemic, instead with a smaller bird show replacing it on a temporary basis.
