Coronavirus Guide

Islands of Adventure Lighthouse Universal Orlando

Islands of Adventure is opening back up amid the coronavirus pandemic, and a lot has changed since the adventure had last begun at the park. We are going to try to help you to plan a trip to the park and help you through all the new things you need to know.

We are going to be splitting this into sections to help you better navigate the guide and only look at the information you are looking for.

New Rules

Amazing Adventures of Spiderman Ride Entrance Sign Universal

One thing to be prepared for when the parks open is a variety of new rules throughout the entire resort.

First and foremost, you are required to wear a facemask throughout the park except in designated areas.

Before you enter you will be subjected to a temperature check.

Closed Attractions

Hogsmeade Islands of Adventure Universal

Pretty much everything at Islands of Adventure is opening with the park. Just be prepared for social distancing when you get onto the ride.

Virtual Line

Hogwarts Castle Islands of Adventure Universal Orlando

A variety of attractions have been using virtual lines to allow for easier social distancing. The system is run through the app and works similar to Disney's Fastpass. You enter a virtual line and when it is your turn you are given a code to scan.

You can be in a maximum of two virtual lines at a time.

What's New

Lorax Building Suess Landing Islands of Adventure

A few new things have opened up during the closure. Some are related to the closure and some are not.

Socially Distant Meet and Greets

Meeting with characters is now done in a socially distant way. That means characters that never wore masks before (like the Marvel heroes)  now wear face masks that fit their color scheme. Characters also only meet on stages set up near their old locations.

Raptor Encounter

As construction continued during the closure, it means we now get to enjoy the new Raptor Encounter experience, so be sure to check that out.

Velocicoaster Construction

Universal's unannounced upcoming Jurassic Park roller coaster is now fully visible from multiple points around the park so be sure to check that out.

U-Rest Areas

Hulk Coaster Launch Tunnel Islands of Adventure

U-Rest areas are a new feature to Universal's parks. They are rest areas where you can take off your mask while still socially distancing.

Other Changes

The bins on 3D attractions are no longer filled with glasses. Instead, the glasses are handed to you individually by a cast member.

Thanks

We hope this helped you as you are looking to plan a visit to Islands of Adventure in the near future with all of these new guidelines. Be sure to stay safe on your visit!
