Spongebob Squarepants The Musical is a modern hit musical based on the television series of the same name that ran on Broadway in 2017.

This musical does not recreate any specific storylines from the TV show it is based on, instead utilizing an entirely original story.
4. Prerecorded
Although most parts of the show were performed live and by different actors than the television show, the French Narrator does appear in prerecorded segments from the original voice actor for the part, Tom Kenny.
5. Original Creator
Despite not being fully involved in its production, this was one of the last Spongebob projects approved of by the original creator of the series, Stephen Hillenburg, prior to his death.
