Cinderella Castle is one of the most iconic structures on earth, coming to be the symbol for the Disney Parks ever since its premiere at Walt Disney World.
Here are 10 fun facts about the famous Disney's Cinderella Castle.
1. Tinker Belle
During the nightly fireworks each night, Tinker Belle flies out from the castle and over the park.
2. Dream Suite
A space originally reserved but never used for Walt Disney's office inside the castle is currently a special one of a kind Dream Suite, only given out for promotions and for special visitors.
3. Restaurant
There is a special princess-themed restaurant located inside the castle called Cinderella's Royal Table, that holds a princess character meal.
4. Towers
The castle holds 27 towers, however, they are labeled as towers 1-29 as the original plans called for two additional towers. Two of the towers, 13, and 17 were never built as they were not visible from pathways in the park.
5. Tokyo
Tokyo Disneyland features an identical but smaller version of this castle as the icon of their main park.
6. Murals
The pathway through Cinderella Castle features several murals that retell the story of Cinderella in mosaics.
7. Forced Perspective
The castle utilizes a building technique called forced perspective to appear taller than it actually is, allowing it to stay under 200 feet to avoid flight regulations.
8. Redesigns
Cinderella Castle has had several redesigns over the years for many temporary festivals as well as permanent color changes.
9. Christmas
The castle receives special decorations during the holiday season, either being covered in icicles or Christmas-themed projection mapping over the years.
10. Size
Throughout most of its history, this was the largest castle in the Disney Parks, only being outpaced with the opening of Shanghai Disneyland.
