Venezuela Pavilion: Epcot Center's Cancelled Attractions Part 23

Epcot's Cancelled Venezuela World Showcase Pavilion

Today we enter the last canceled World Showcase country that we will be covering in Epcot Center's Cancelled Attractions. We are looking at the canceled plans for a Venezuela Pavilion in Epcot's World Showcase.

If you missed any of the previous entries in this series be sure to check here and come back the next two weeks for the last two articles in Epcot Center's Cancelled Attractions.

Venezuela was one of many proposed countries that would have been added in a phase two of Epcot, and it made it much further in development than most of the canceled countries we have covered in the past.

We know the country would have featured both a rainforest section with a massive waterfall and a modern city. It would have given World Showcase a different architectural style than anything it has seen before or since. Most countries have showcased the historical architecture of the country, but this proposal went a different root, showcasing the present day of the country.

But that wouldn't be what the main draw to the pavilion would have been.

This pavilion would have given World Showcase an additional attraction in the form of a sky tram themed ride. Not much is known about the actual content of this attraction but it is believed that it would have been somewhat of a cross between Peter Pan's Flight and a Skyliner style transportation system. It would have been located in the nature section of the land and been a peaceful ride without a narrative.

This pavilion would have given the park a South American country and an extremely needed additional ride-through attraction. It would have also placed a more modern setting in the park.
