Disney Plus has been out for just a few months and while it has been out it has given us constant access to the Disney Vault. This makes it the perfect place to go to build anticipation for your next Walt Disney World trip.

Here are 5 things you should be watching to get ready for your next trip to Walt Disney World in 2020.

Star Wars The Clone Wars Series

With the recent opening of both rides in Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, something Star Wars should definitely be on your watch list before your next trip. I would recommend not one of the films, however, but instead Star Wars The Clone Wars the animated series. This series introduced us to Hondo Ohnaka, the main character in the Millenium Falcon: Smugglers Run. Where you likely have a casual knowledge of the rest of the characters in the land without having seen any of the films, this character is more obscure

Avatar

Pandora World of Avatar is still one of the newest lands at Walt Disney World, and while you don't need to see the film it is based on to appreciate the land or its attractions, watching the movie certainly helps you to understand the land more.

You don't even need to watch the full movie, just a short amount gives you a feeling for the scale of Pandora and some of the basic mythology of the franchise which will help you appreciate the two attractions, and just how spot on the Imagineers were in capturing the essence of Pandora.

Mickey Mouse Shorts (2012-)

Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway is set to open this year at Disney's Hollywood Studios based on the most recent series of Mickey shorts, which are currently available to watch on Disney Plus. Several episodes are even themed on the Disney Parks, so you can get excited not only for the upcoming Mickey ride but also other attractions. Two specific episodes I recommended are Potatoland and Nature's Wonderland which celebrate the history of classic Disney attractions.

Ratatouille

Runaway Railway is not the only new ride opening at Walt Disney World this year. Epcot is getting a new dark ride based on the Pixar film Ratatouille. This ride is also inspiring an entirely new area of the France Pavilion in the World Showcase, featuring new food offerings inspired by the cuisine of France.

Frozen

With Frozen II came a whole bunch of new offerings based on the Frozen franchise. While you can't watch the sequel yet on Disney+ you can enjoy the original Frozen on the streaming service. This will get you ready for the countless Frozen-themed offerings in Walt Disney World. Get ready for things like the Frozen sing-along and Frozen Ever After with the movie that inspired them.
