Shipwreck Falls at Six Flags New England Extinct Amusement Park Tribute

Shipwreck Falls Boat Going Up Lift Hill Six Flags New England

Shipwreck Falls was a water ride that used to be found at Six Flags New England. Featuring a boat for a ride vehicle and a simple layout of a lift hill, turn, and splashdown drop this ride was found at several amusement parks, with the Six Flags New England version of the ride opening in 1997.

This ride was one of the first rides added by Premier Parks when it was purchased by the company, being added before the park was even rethemed as a Six Flags park.

The surrounding area of this park would be themed as a classic, western style seaside village known as Crack Axle Canyon, befitting of this ride which was found at its center.

This ride was a major water attraction in the park that had some decent landscaping and theming, and provided some relief from hot summer days at the park during a time when the water park was not as major as it is today.

This attraction would not be long lived at the park, being removed in 2011 to make way for Goliath, a giant inverted boomerang roller coaster, which is currently closed and has been standing but not operating throughout the 2021 season.

Despite its absence, the surrounding area is still themed like it was there, with nautical theming, serving as something of a lasting tribute to this early part os Six Flags New England.
