Disneyland's Never Built Westcot
Many unique rides and attractions would be built through the countries of World Showcase in Westcot, but one attraction would attempt to tie them together. The world cruise attraction would serve as a narrative and transportation ride throughout the park.
This ride was not inspired by any specific attraction from Epcot, instead reinterpreting the various approaches to world history from Future World into a single ride.
The ride would be a boat ride-style attraction and feature various stations throughout the park. It would in this way serve as basically a Epcot version of the Disneyland Railroad, transporting guests and giving them the chance to see various scenes on each leg of the journey. Each scene would depict various historic moments, such as moments featured in classic Epcot rides like Rome's destruction and more unique scenes.
This attraction would have been massive and built into the infrastructure in the park, traveling through various other lands and attractions just as the Disneyland Railroad still does to this day at the park Westcot would have neighbored. It would have been a unique experience, unlike anything Disney has built before or since.
When Westcot was canceled, no transportation ride would be planned for its replacement park, Disney California Adventure. To this day, no ride anything like this or the Disneyland Railroad exists in the second park of the Disneyland Resort.
