Disney Magic Kingdoms 101 Dalmatians Opening Screen

One of the most common types of updates to Disney Magic Kingdoms is their limited-time events, with most of the more popular Disney films being added this way. While each update is different, they all tend to follow the same formula.

So here is a basic guide with tips and tricks to help you get through the limited-time events in Disney Magic Kingdoms. It isn't going to talk about any specific characters so it can be used for any limited-time event.

First Tips

Before getting into more specific tips, there is one important thing to note, and that is that you should set your expectations reasonably for an event. If you only recently started playing and do not have a lot of characters unlocked yet, then you will almost certainly not finish the update. But that does not mean you should not try the event. Even just getting a few characters and an attraction can be a lot of help in the game, giving you extra magic and gems that you can use to better yourself for future events.

Also, characters will return to be used as helper characters in future limited-time events and Tower Challenges, so even getting one or two characters could help you get further in a future event.

Basically, if you are early in the game, don't expect to finish the event, but set a reasonable expectation for what you want to accomplish.

How To Prepare

So how do you prepare for limited-time events?

Unlike Tower Challenges, it is not easy to prepare for limited-time events.

If you know what character set is going to be the helper collection, then the best thing you can do is level up those characters as much as possible. This will allow you to complete the helper quests during the event for those characters.

Another thing that can help is not leveling up main storyline characters right before the event. Typically main storyline characters have the most token conflicts with event characters, which can make it take longer to get and level up the limited time characters. By making sure you minimize this before the event you can get the characters a little easier.

Also, make sure you save up as many gems as possible before the event if you want a chance at finishing it. In recent events, it has become basically impossible to finish the event without buying some of the premium content, so if you do not want to use real-life money, saving up gems is your best bet.

Really the best way to prepare is just to continue through the main storyline, and whenever you can get characters from events you missed. The more you have, the better you will do on an event, generally speaking assuming you level up all your characters to a reasonable degree.

Finally, prepare yourself to stop working on the main storyline during the event. The main storyline will still be there after the event, so your focus should really be on the limited-time characters.

What to Buy

As mentioned in the preparation section, if you want to finish the event, you should be ready to buy some of the premium limited-time content. But what is the most valuable to finishing the event?

In general, the most valuable premium content is the two premium characters that are usually a part of each limited-time event. They typically help with multiple characters, event currency, and do not require difficult-to-get blueprints to level up.

If you are purchasing anything with gems or money, make sure you buy it early in the event. Buying a character, attraction, or parade float in the final days of the event isn't going to do you much good. Having it from near the begining however, can be the difference between how many characters you are able to unlock.

Additional Tips

If a character earns event currency, constantly send them out to earn event currency. There is nothing worse than reaching a point where event currency is holding you back. This is usually avoidable by just continuing to send characters on tasks. Also, you can never have too much, and whatever you have left at the end can help you earn some bonus gems.

Also, visit the game every day for your reward. Often some of these will be tied to the event and help you progress further.

Finally, focus on the mini-events but not too much. These can certainly help, but they are not make or break for the event, so do not make them your priority.
