The Disneyland Resort is a tribute to every film from Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel, and more, and it can seem impossible to understand every reference in the two theme parks. But some films are more important than others in understanding the rides and attractions in the Disneyland Resort.

1. Alice In Wonderland
Alice In Wonderland is a classic Disney animated film with tons of fun characters and music, and two of the rides at Disneyland are based on this film, a dark ride and the iconic Mad Tea Party attraction, creating a miniland based on the film in Fantasyland. Characters from the film also make regular appearances throughout Disneyland.
2. Cars
Cars Land is one of the best lands in any Disney Park in the world, and you can really appreciate this land on a whole other level if you have watched the first Cars film. Featuring Disney, Looney Tunes, and other classic animated characters, as well as original characters, it is a wonderful under appreciated film that is a tribute to classic animation. This film inspired a whole land in Disneyland, Mickey's Toontown, and in this land is a ride based on the film as well as many hidden easter eggs based on it. 10. Any Avengers Movie
Avengers Campus is a land based on the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe. While it may be a daunting task to watch the entire series before your next trip, watching any of the main Avengers films should give you more than enough information to understand the land and its characters. The land takes place at a constantly changing point in time in the universe, even sometimes changing timelines weekly, so the best thing you can do to appreciate the land is just understand the basic characters.
