Disney just announced that the icon of Walt Disney World, Cinderella Castle, will be repainted with an all-new color scheme in time for the end of this year. This will celebrate the 70th anniversary of this classic and will no doubt make sure the castle is looking its best for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World.
This is one of Disney's many castle redesigns in the past few years. Sleepy Beauty Castle in Disneyland, Tokyo Disneyland's version of Cinderella Castle, and Hong Kong Disneyland have all had redesigned their castles in the past few years or are currently undergoing a castle redesign. Disneyland Paris is also highly rumored to also be receiving a castle redesign in the near future.
This castle design is bolder in its color choices and is a departure from the current castle design. It will be interesting to see this unfold over the next few months.
