Tootsie The Musical Rush

Tootsie at the Marquis Theatre Broadway New York City

Tootsie is a musical adaptation of the classic movie of the same name and provides a 21st-century look at the story of a man dressing as a woman in an attempt to improve his acting career and suddenly having his career take off in a way he never expected.

This show is one of the funniest I have seen in a while, with one of the smartest scripts I have ever heard. This show also offers several ways to score cheap tickets to performances, including a Rush policy.

I am going to be honest, this is the easiest Rush I have ever seen. I mean this is easier than Chicago when there is no star in the show. I have shown up fifteen minutes before the box office opens and been fourth in line.

I don't know why it is so easy, it is a hilarious show, and the cast is stellar, specifically Santino Fontana who won a Tony for his role, Lili Cooper, and Sarah Stiles who has (in my opinion) the show's stand out song. Yet at my performance, there were entire empty rows and the ushers gave us unofficial instructions for moving seats.

Tickets through Rush are $42 each, and each person can purchase a maximum of two tickets at this rate.

Tickets go on sale at 10am for shows Monday through Saturday and at noon for Sunday performances.

If you are looking for last-minute tickets to one of the funniest shows on Broadway, this is one of the best ways to do it.
