The Haunted Mansion is Disney's spookiest ride. Every day of the year all of us foolish mortals can go dance with the 999 happy haunts. But during Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party we get some special magic added to this ride.
I am referring to the special live ghosts appearing on the Haunted Mansion lawn, entertaining guests as they wait for the Haunted Mansion.
There is normally one ghost at a time, with two different ghosts appearing every night. If you get lucky you may see them both at the same time, especially earlier in the night when the video above was taken.
They will ask the audience questions and make hauntingly good jokes while sitting or walking around on the Haunted Mansion lawn.
But I would not recommend riding this ride during the party. The line gets really long, and nothing special happens once you enter the actual Haunted Mansion building. No characters or special magic on the inside, just the normal Haunted Mansion that you can ride any normal day at the Magic Kingdom.
Instead, you should enter through the exit of the ride. This is normally allowed, and if you do that you can watch the characters from a pretty good vantage point for less time than it takes to wait in the line for the Haunted Mansion.
