Revenge of the Mummy The Ride Universal Studios Hollywood

Revenge of the Mummy The Ride

Revenge of the Mummy ride Universal Hollywood

Universal Studios Hollywood has moved away from the soundstage park where there are rides in giant unthemed buildings. With expansions like Springfield and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the park has moved towards immersive lands as opposed to a studio-themed park.

So why hasn't anyone told Revenge of the Mummy?

Ok, this ride on the inside is very well themed as an Egyptian temple. It has one of the best animatronics in the entire parks (ok only animatronics). But it still pales in comparison to the Orlando version and most other things in the park.

This version is about half the Orlando version. You go through the backward portion then turn back around and expect to continue like in every other version. Then you enter the station. It's over before you defeat Imotep. There is only one show scene, and that replaces most of the animatronics from the other versions with screens. There is no fake ending. It just ends.

The ride was fit into the smaller ET Adventure building and doesn't have the room for the elaborate effects found in other versions.

If you like a fast coaster with no drops or conclusion you have your ride. If you're looking for something like the Orlando version you're out of luck.
