The Never Built Tomorrowland Train Station in Walt Disney World

Never Built Magic Kingdom

Tomorrowland From Peoplemover Magic Kingdom Walt Disney World

As of its last opperating day, the Walt Disney World Railroad had three stations around the Magic Kingdom, on Main Street USA, Frontierland, and Fantasyland. But had the original plans been followed there would have been an additional fourth railroad station within the park.

This never built railroad station was intended to be built within the Tomorrowland section of the park, and the train layout was designed with the intention of a station being built for guests to get on and off the train within the futuristic land.

As can be seen in these satalite images of Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom, the Walt Disney World Railroad passes incredibly close to the existing land, with the track being located mere feet away from the existing guest pathways based on the original track layout before the addition of Tron Lightcycle Run to the park.

This station was never built, leaving the Walt Disney World Railroad with one less station then its west coast cousin, the Disneyland Railroad. The train merely passes through Tomorrowland before returning to the Magic Kingdom after leaving Fantasyland.

Currently the Tomorrowland stretch of the Walt Disney World Railroad is being reimagined due to the addition of Tron Lightcycle Run, although it does not appear that this will involve the addition of a station to the most futuristic land in the Magic Kingdom, leaving this proposal in Disney history.
