Disneyland is the happiest place on earth, and a favorite vacation destination for many families. So many family memories are made at the two theme parks, and you may want to capture every moment during your trip, including the rides.
But are you allowed to record the rides during your Disneyland trip?
Disneyland has specific policies regarding the filming of the rides and attractions at the two theme parks of the Disneyland Resort that are important to know before your trip to the parks.
As a general rule, Disney allows you to record on the vast majority of the rides in the Disneyland Resort, from slow-moving dark rides like Pirates of the Caribbean, to fast roller coasters like the Incredicoaster.
However, there are some limitations to this rule that are worth knowing. Some individual attractions do ban filming, although as a rule it is allowed on most rides. Below are some of the rides with special rules regarding filming and photography.
Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout does restrict filming on the actual ride, although you are allowed to record the preshow and queue line.
Soarin bans filming during the ride (a rule that is different than the same ride at Walt Disney World).
Goofy's Sky School also restricts filming during the roller coaster.
Star Tours The Adventures Continue can sometimes ban filming, although enforcement on this rule often depends on the cast member.
Some theater-style attractions also ban recording, specifically Great Moments With Mr. Lincoln and any short film festivals.
As a rule, Disney allows you to record most of the rides throughout Disneyland and Disney California Adventure. But it is good to know the few exceptions to this rule so they do not impact your Disney trip.
