Ever since it opened, Star Wars Rise of the Resistance has become one of the most popular attractions at the park, and many people rush straight to this attraction in the morning when the park first opens. But is this a good idea, and should you rope drop Star Wars Rise of the Resistance at Disneyland?

Rope-dropping Star Wars Rise of the Resistance may save you some time, but you will be far from the only person doing this, and likely still have to wait a significant time. So is there a better use of your precious morning time at Disneyland to get more done in this period of low waits?

Now first a disclaimer, if you do not rope drop Rise of the Resistance and still want to ride it without paying, you will likely have to wait a significant time But if you can get enough other rides done in the morning it may be worth it.

So here are some other morning plans to consider.

Disneyland Tomorrowland Abandoned Peoplemover Tracks

Tomorrowland has always been a good way to rope drop Disneyland, and even more so now that Disneyland has Star Wars Galaxy's Edge. You can realistically get most or all of the attractions in this land done within the first hour of the park being open, saving yourself the significant wait times that Space Mountain and Star Tours typically get, as well as having the chance to check out other smaller rides like Autopia and Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters. If you do this plan, check out Space Mountain first before moving on to any of the other rides.

Fantasyland is also always a good rope drop plan in the morning at Disneyland. Peter Pan's Flight typically has an incredibly long wait that is typically shorter in the mornings. On top of this, every other ride in Fantasyland is usually a walk-on for the first hour, meaning you could cut down on hours of waiting between all of the rides.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad Ride Vehicle Entering a Tunnel Disneyland

Finally, if you plan right then you can get a majority of the other rides done on the western half of the park, between Adventureland, New Orleans Square, and Frontierland. This can allow you to experience numerous hit rides including Indiana Jones Adventure, Pirates of the Caribbean, Big Thunder Mountain, Haunted Mansion, and potentially even the nearby Splash Mountain or Jungle Cruise.

Rope dropping the big new ride can help you avoid waiting for that one ride, but it might not be the best choice overall. If you are willing to wait in that one line later in the day you can save a lot of time and experience a lot of rides with little to no wait times.
