Today a cult classic Disney movie is celebrating its 25th anniversary. A Goofy Movie came out 25 years ago today.
This movie was intended to be a smaller release for Disney, but it has grown in popularity beyond anything Disney could have expected, with Powerline and Max Goof becoming classic Disney characters and I 2 I becoming a classic Disney song.
Created as the conclusion to the Goof Troop TV series, this film followed Max and his father Goofy on a cross country trip during Max's high school years. It would later spawn a direct to video sequel and countless items of merchandise.
Max is still a common meet and greet character in the parks, common in all the international parks and Disneyland.
