Beastly Kingdom was planned to come to Disney's Animal Kingdom with three original attractions. It would have held three major attractions. A dragon-themed roller coaster, a Fantasia boat ride, and a Unicorn themed maze attraction.
Welcome to Disney's Animal Kingdom's Cancelled Attractions. Today we are exploring the never built Quest of the Unicorn attraction that was supposed to be built in the Beastly Kingdom themed section of the park. Check out the rest of this series here.
Beastly Kingdom was supposed to be separated into good and evil sections, with the Unicorn attraction located on the good side of the land.
We don't know a lot about what the storyline of this attraction would have been. We know it would have sent you on a quest of sorts to find the legendary Unicorn of Beastly Kingdom in the maze. The Unicorn would then be featured at the end of the maze in an impressive lair similar to that of the dragon beneath Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Paris.
It would have been great to get a maze-like this at Disney World. Many other Disney Resorts around the world have extensive mazes themed to Alice In Wonderland, yet Disney World has none. It would have been something no other park at Walt Disney World had, and something that you could spend a ton of time exploring.
