What's New In Disney World This Summer Before Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge

Disney World may not have Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge this summer, but there is still a lot of new entertainment offerings at the parks this summer to enjoy.

Check out what's new this summer to enjoy at Walt Disney World.

Disney Villains After Hours

Disney started an all-new hard ticket event for the summer, Villains After Hours. It is similar to other after-hours events that gives you extra hours in the parks after they close to enjoy select attractions, but this event adds extra entertainment to the park. The best parts being ride overlays of Space Mountain, with the ride audio replaced with Disney Villians laughing, Pirates of the Caribbean with added live actors, and Villians Unite the Night, a great show featuring Hades, Megara and other Disney Villians that feels right out of Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.

New Halloween Fireworks

It feels crazy to talk about Halloween as a summer addition, but when Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party starts halfway through August it definitely counts as one. Not many details have been given about this all-new fireworks show except that it will feature projections and Mickey and the gang entering a haunted house.

Lightning McQueen Racing Academy

Disney's Hollywood Studios got an all-new show earlier this year featuring a Lightning McQueen animatronic more advanced than the ones in Cars Land. It is geared more towards a younger audience but is still a fun new experience for the park.

Animal Animation Experience

Disney World is reopening Rafiki's Planet Watch this summer with an all-new Animation Experience. This will feature two main parts, educational experience about animals being used to help Disney Animation, and a return of the Animation Academy to Disney World this time themed based on The Lion King.

Incredibles Street

Pixar Place reopened themed to The Incredibles, bringing new meet and greets to the park. The best addition, however, was an east coast location for the Incredicookie which is, in my opinion, the greatest food item from Pixar Pier.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Awesome Mix

While not a new addition, this show is returning to Epcot for the summer from June 14th-August 18th. It is a great way to celebrate the franchise, albeit in a really weird place.

Wonderful World of Animation

Disney's Hollywood Studios got a brand new projection show premiering daily before the fireworks. It is really the best daily projection show in the park yet.

Rivers of Light We Are One

Rivers of Light got an update with Disney Music prominently inserted into the existing show.
